Due to popular demand we are running the same workshop again the following weekend - 30th and 31st of August

Join us for an inspiring, creative and informative weekend in the heart of East Devon's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in which you can read your work to other writers, join in brainstorming sessions, write in a stream of consciousness, give and receive feedback, address issues such as writer's block, creating characters, genre, and discussion on agents and publishing PLUS leave having made a commitment to complete your project within a time scale that you yourself will define during the weekend.

I have run workshops and weekend retreats on all the following; Confidence and Presentation Skills, Creative Writing, Introduction to Coaching and Relaxation & Therapy retreats.  

To assist me on the retreat, I have Lucy Hounsom and Reda Patel, both Joint Honours Graduates in English & Creative Writing from Royal Holloway University of London. Lucy is about to study for an MA in Creative Writing with the Poet Laureate Andrew Motion.

If not driving, we can arrange taxis to pick you up at Honiton (approx 9 miles) or Exeter (approx 15 miles) cost not included.

What do I get?
  • Devon cream tea on arrival
  • Friday late afternoon ice breakers and fun writing exercises.
  • Saturday morning 3 .5 hours Morning session, Stream of Consciousness, issues faced by writers and feedback 
  • Lunch included at Rainbow Cottage 
  • Afternoon silent walk, then split down for own writing and individual coaching / one to one discussion
  • Tea at Rainbow Cottage, feedback on day's activities
  • Evening at leisure, suggest booking a table at the local pub or self cater at cottage (cost not included)
  • Sunday morning, breakfast included on help yourself basis at Rainbow Cottage
  • Warm up exercises, poetry, creating a character, genre, publishing in all it's forms, finding an agent etc 
  • Lunch at Rainbow Cottage, (included) afternoon free, but workshop leaders available for informal discussion or coaching from Deirdre. Depart by 4.00pm
  • One hour follow up group teleconference call with Deirdre on July 7th at 7.00 pm

£175.00 per person, sleeping in twin bedded rooms (one bedroom with en suite facilities)
£190.00 per person for single room NB There is only one single room so it's first come first served!
